Perfect Weight Loss Detox Diet: A Sustainable Detox For Acne Free Clearer Skin, Part II

In my previous post, I covered in great detail of what I consider to be the perfect weight loss detox diet because it gives you the quickest results out of all the detox diet recipes I have disclosed in the previous posts. And not only that, this unorthodox diet is very sustainable for anyone to follow without leaving you feeling starved and energy deprived. I say unorthodox because most of the detox diets out there in the market place are so hard to follow and it will leave you feeling irritated and sluggish. This particular detox diet plan allows you to choose from a range of salty to sweet liquids for one day given your natural cravings for salty fluids following sweet juices. If I had you eating sweet foods all day, you can easily get sick of it. Eventually you will crave something salty. The same concept applies on the opposite side of the spectrum. Just like after eating a salty meal, people naturally crave something sweet for desert. This particular liquid fast accommodates all your natural cravings and that makes it a very well balanced liquid diet for acne free clear skin.

Today I am going to talk about the wonderful benefits of a liquid fasting. I don’t do it personally because I am not trying to lose weight. I have a fast metabolism and I need calories in my diet. Most muscular people or skinny people with low body fat percentage don’t really need to follow this fasting routine. But on the other hand, women who really want to take their skin detox to a higher level can follow this plan for one day or more if they can handle it.

I mentioned in my prior posts that one of my sister’s friend undergo a liquid fast for seven days straight twice a year. She is an example of someone who takes skin detoxification very seriously. I find that to be very excruciatingly painful when I hear about it. But she has the clear beautiful skin to show for it.

Most average size men would never consider doing a fasting and cleansing program because they are too macho for it. I admit I would never do it myself. Maintaining lean body mass in the form of muscle appeals to them more than looking like a skinny pretty boy.

But women, on the other hand, who places a tremendous priority on the importance of looks are more likely inclined to commit to seven day fasts for the sake of clear beautiful skin. And that is the sacrifice they are willing to take.

In my prior posts, I mentioned my sister trying the diet fast for half a day, and just couldn’t handle it. So she had to continue the rest of the day on healthy solid foods. But I give her credit for trying. But what is really interesting was after writing the previous post about the sustainable detox , my sister e-mailed me to tell me that she can now, for the first time, follow the plan as I laid out. This is coming from someone who couldn’t complete a single day on a liquid fast diet. My sister told me, at that time, the reason why she couldn’t complete the fast was because she was doing it on strictly water and water has no calories. And the fact that she has a fast metabolism like me left her feeling incredibly irritable and hungry.

Now I got her developing the habit of drinking Odwalla Superfood juices from Safeway in the morning occasionally when she doesn’t feel hungry in the morning. As a matter of fact there were times when she wasn’t hungry at all for some strange reason and she had drunk freshly squeezed fruit juices all morning and afternoon leading up to dinner when she managed to regain her appetite at last for her night time dinner engagements. Although she never completed an entire day on a liquid fast, a half a day is better than none at all. This is a perfect example of listening to your body.

Most of us today make the mistake of forcing ourselves to eat even when we are not hungry because we were all taught that if we didn’t put food in our bodies, we will not have energy resulting in a compromised immune system. That is a bad habit I occasionally fall victim to also. I find myself forcing myself to eat solid foods when I am not hungry for fear of losing muscle weight. And as a result, I would suffer from mild constipation and mild sluggishness.

Mild constipation? Mild sluggishness? I know you are wondering what the hell am I talking about. I guess I know my daily bowel movements so well that I put them into different categories from mild to the chronic.

Contrary to popular belief, you are not supposed to eat when you are not hungry. And in case you didn’t know, have you ever wondered how come on certain days you don’t feel hungry as the day before? And you thought that something must be wrong with your body at that moment and you thought that it was best for you to put at least something in your stomach for energy reasons.

The reason why on certain days you don’t feel hungry is because on the previous days you had eaten probably too many fatty foods or foods that are hard to digest. And the undigested food carried over into the next day. That is why sometimes you wake up in the morning with a bad taste in your mouth. And we all know that is the first sign of bad breath symptoms. The sign takes the form of a coated tongue. When you look in the mirror, you will most likely see a either a thick white coating on your tongue or a thick yellow coating. This is known as tongue diagnosis in Traditional Chinese medicine. Acne problems and a host of other skin problems are results of improper food combining and excessive food intake.

The coating of your tongue is a sign of accumulation of toxins culminating from the previous day’s indigestion. And during your sleep, your digestive energy slows down. And of course, we were all told to avoid eating before sleep because it would cause digestive impairment. Now you understand why we all wake up the next day with either mild breath odor or worse depending what types of hard-to-digest foods you had the day before. And you would brush your coated tongue with a toothbrush to scrape away the bad breath temporarily.

I say temporarily because it depends how you start your day off for breakfast. If you had bad breath resulting from yesterday’s indigestion and you decide to still have hash browns, bacon and eggs for breakfast, then your bad breath symptoms will continue to persist. What you are doing is overwhelming your digestive system even more when it needs a big break at that moment in time. That is why I mentioned the importance of eating fruits on an empty stomach in the morning to detoxify your body of all the undigested food resulting from improper food combining of yesterday. Fruits don’t require digestion. They stay in your stomach for 30 minutes before entering your intestines for nutrient assimilation and natural colon cleansing.

There are times I don’t feel hungry in the morning so I would just have Odwalla Superfood juices all morning. So technically speaking, even though I have said I have never engaged in fasting, I can actually take back what I said. I can proudly say that I have done a half day liquid fast. In other words, I would have just freshly squeezed juices all morning and mid afternoon until I regain my appetite for some healthy solid foods. That is a perfect example of listening to my body. I have learned my lesson the hard way when I suffered the mild side affects of forcing myself to eat when I was not hungry. Going forward, if you are not hungry, it is a lot better to abstain from food. Just have freshly squeezed juices until your appetite returns. Don’t go against what your body is telling you. Your lack of hunger is a result of acccumulation of toxins from yesterday’s or the same day’s undigested food. Rest your body and your body will thank you for it.

Now there you have it. I just revealed to you an effective way on how to include a liquid cleansing detox routine on certain days when you need it the most. Listen to your body. When you are not hungry, just drink freshly squeezed fruit juices and soups instead. Take advantage of that particular moment of time to go on either a half day or a full day liquid diet. Your body and skin will thank you for it.
